Kowloon Tong

Low-rise residences

Lying on the foot of Lion Rock, Kowloon Tong is administratively divided by Kowloon City and Sham Shui Po Districts. It is a low-density residential district, popular among the middleto upper-class, and is home to many celebrities, billionaires and corporate senior executives. The area is well-structured, and many of the broad roads and streets are named after British counties. Townhouses on or around LaSalle Road and Oxford Road are of premier class.

There are a handful of international and English schools within the district, such as American International School, Australian International School, Delia School of Canada, as well as such EMI schools as Bishop Hall Jubilee School and Beacon Hill School. Hong Kong Baptist University and The City University of Hong Kong are also situated in Kowloon Tong.

Both KCR East Rail and MTR Kwun Tong Line run through Kowloon Tong with two stations of the same name interchanging. Modern shopping complex Festival Walk is just above the KCR station, providing convenience for residents of the district. The stretch of Waterloo Road through Kowloon Tong forms part of Hong Kong's Route 1, leading through Lion Rock Tunnel to Shatin and the New Territories.
